- I've searched extensively and not come up with anything, so I hope
- that Usenet might be able to help with this question:
-
- I would like to find online somewhere a complete listing of the
- standard modem protocols (ie. v.34, v.32bis, v.32, v.42bis, v.42,
- MNP-5, MNP2-4, etc.). I would really like to see a fairly technical
- description of each of these protocols somewhere. I guess my question
- must not be very frequently asked, because none of the "modem" FAQ's
- point to Bell's and ITU-TSS's definitions of these standards.
-
- Is there anyone out there who might be able to supply a URL or at
- least somewhere that I might start in my search for a more thorough
- understanding?
-
- What I need is a bit more than just, "v.42 is error compression,
- v.42bis is data compression, etc." I'd like to understand the nuts
- and bolts a little better.
-
- Thanks for any help,
-
- Dave
